BIENVENIDOS A NUESTRO RINCÓN DE PADRES
Our attendance policy
Students are expected to be in attendance a minumum of two out of three days per week during the fall/spring session and daily during the summer session. While we want our students to be well rounded and we know things come up including extra-curricular activites, sports, failed transportation, and appointments, this program is only beneficial if the student and parent make a commitment to be here. Students who attend regularly have better success in the program and are more prepared for their tests, projects, and have their homework ready to turn in. During the summer session it is important that students attend everyuday in order to really see substanital growth with mutliplication fluency.
In the case that a student is going to be absent please notify Lindsay or Evelia via telephone or email. Any student who has three consectutive unexplained absences or has spotty attendance will be dropped from the program.
Nuestra política de asistencia:
Se espera que los estudiantes asistan un mínimo de dos de cada tres días a la semana durante la sesión de otoño/ primavera y todos los días durante la sesión de verano. Si bien sabemos que hay ciertas cosas como citas, no transportación, deportes u otras actividades escolares que no permiten que nuestros estudiantes atiendan regularmente, este programa sólo es beneficioso si el estudiante y los padres se comprometen a estar aquí. Los estudiantes que asisten regularmente al programa, tienen más éxito y están más preparados para sus exámenes, proyectos y tienen lista a tiempo su tarea diaria. Durante la sesión de verano es importante que los estudiantes asistan todos los días con el fin de ver realmente el crecimiento substancial y fluidez en multiplicación.
En caso de que un estudiante va a estar ausente, por favor notifique a Lindsay o Evelia a través del teléfono o correo electrónico. Cualquier estudiante que tiene tres ausencias inexplicables consecutivas o tiene asistencia irregular será retirado del programa.
Our parent component
Once a month, parents with students enrolled in our program are required to attend a mandatory meeting taught by our community liaison Evelia Chairez. During these meetings, parents learn how to advocate for their students, how to choose the right classes when they are in transition to high school, and how to talk and ask the right questions when they have the parents- teachers conferences.
Alcohol, drugs are some of the challenges our kids are facing every day. Parents learn how to recognize signals of the use of alcohol and drugs and how to find help if it is necessary. They are also made aware of available resources in the community and how to be a good citizen. Many of the topics discussed are parent suggested therefore if there are issues that your family is struggling with that you would like to learn more about or how to find resources to deal with it please let Evelia know.
Please note the parent meeting are held in Spanish and English.

Una vez al mes, se requiere que los padres de los estudiantes matriculados en nuestro programa, asistan a una reunión obligatoria impartida por nuestro enlace comunitario, Evelia Chairez. Durante estas reuniones, los padres aprenden cómo abogar por sus alumnosw, cómo elegir las clases correctas cuando están en transición a la escuela preparatoria, la manera de hablar y hacer preguntas correctas cuanto tienen las conferencias de padres-maestros.
El alcohol, las drogas son algunos de los desafíos que los niños se enfrentan todos los días. Los padres aprenden cómo reconocer las señales del uso del alcohol y drogas y cómo encontrar ayuda si es necesario. También se hacen consientes de los recursos disponibles en la comunidad y cómo ser buen ciudadano. Muchos de los temas tratados son sugeridos por los padres, por lo tanto, si tiene sugerencias sobre lo que le gustaría aprender o encontrar más recursos disponibles sobre problemas que quizás su familia enfrente, por favor, notifique a Evelia.
Reuniones son llevadas a cabo en inglés y español.
